One of the beautiful things about having a celebrant-led ceremony is that you can have it absolutely anywhere. No restrictions, no rules—just you and the location that feels right.

Choosing Your Venue

Here are some questions to help you decide:

What’s important to you?
Scenery? Convenience? Budget? Capacity? Making this clear helps narrow down options.

What’s the vibe?
Formal or casual? Traditional or alternative? Your venue should match your ceremony style.

What are the practicalities?
Think about: guest accessibility, backup plans for weather, facilities (loos!), parking, accommodation options nearby

What are the restrictions?
Some venues have noise curfews, alcohol restrictions, or other rules. Make sure you know what you’re working with.

Does it feel like you?
Trust your gut. If a venue gives you that “yes, this is it” feeling, that’s worth paying attention to.

Working With Your Venue

Once you’ve found your spot:

Visit at the time of day you’ll be there – Lighting changes everything

Think about the guest experience – Where will they sit/stand? Can everyone see and hear?

Consider the elements – Sun, wind, rain—what’s your backup plan?

Talk to your celebrant – I’m always happy to visit venues with you to discuss logistics and ideas
